I could see a lot of diamonds! Women's best friend, they say! My best friends too - Stars!! They are indeed diamonds, alright!
A friend asked me yesterday "Divya, which part of the day is your favorite?" I said "Night"! I don't know which first came on our faces - Smile or Silence! Silent smile :-)
I'm always asked "why don't you be like normal people and sleep in the night???" My answer : "STARS DON'T SLEEP IN THE NIGHT"!!! 'yeah.. yeah' they'd say!!
I used to once wonder, "Don't stars sleep????????" I've stopped wondering now! I want them not to sleep now! Or who'd give me that gorgeous company in the night!!!!! :D
I've grown to believe there's a universal language- which has no words nor a name!
I often speak this universal language! Atleast it has no grammar, no complicated words that can't be pronounced!
It is now 1:15 AM and I am standing on the terrace with 2 filled cups to the rim - One which I 'want' to drink and One which I 'should' drink!
A cup of coffee (wanna drink) and a cup of Horlicks (should drink)! 'should drink' 'coz my mom will beat me Epaaaang Opaaaang Chapaaang if I don't drink Horlicks!
I'll drink both!! But WHICH ONE FIRST??????
We always keep nice things towards the end, so should I keep coffee after horlicks?! Or should I listen to my titillating taste buds and gulp the coffee first?!!
Dilemma!! There's dilemma in every small thing! (Who said 'this is a small thing', it's not a dilemma.. it's a biggggg dilemma my senses were rocking their senses!)
Did it make any sense?? Now who cares if there's sense! I'm standing alone on the terrace in dead of night and in the state of indecision! Where the hell are my friends!!!! Where are the Angels when I need them the most!! Heyyy heyyy heyyyy.. All my friends are SLEEPING!! :-/ oh ohhh..
May be Sheedi is awake, he'd, not too long ago, messaged me saying he's traveling back home! I'd be so happy to disturb him! He calls me VighnasantOshi, GhaTavaaNi etc (Please don't bother what they mean! They are nice words said about me :D )
He's a 'Farishtha'! Never tired of being good! A true angel (Sheedi, if u read it, to your notice : Names have been changed for reasons, to be happy or to fly 'coz your name is being used is just an illusion!!!!! ;-) ) So, should I call him up on his Vodafone (which is never reachable when most wanted!) Ahh.. No use!
I looked up in the sky again! The sky was starred and exactly like our roads are tarred! With some places beautifully done and some left 'beautifully undone'! The clouds in between looked like the beautifully undone roads!
The sky had places with no stars or the stars didn't have "enough battery" to shine bright!!!!! ;-) Some had heavy-duty batteries to twinkle and shine non-stop!
Could they solve my dilemma? And they are my best friends, couldn't they tell me which I should drink first - Coffee or Horlicks??
"Abbbeyy saaalOn! Jaldi bataana.. dOno coffee aur horlicks ThanDe ho rahe he"!! I kept staring and waiting for them to decide!
And all my friends chose either coffee or horlicks! Some were weird! Yuckkiee! they said 'mix both and gulp'! That was ruled out, I hadn't given them that option! I asked them to go and sleep!
I looked at the stars that voted for 'coffee first'. Hmmm.. inclination, they say, we have on our interests!
Suddenly, one star had gone red!! Familiar and my friend! Was he angry that I wasn't looking at him in agreement of drinking horlicks first??? Defying the laws of Science that say stars have different temperatures and appear in colors accordingly,
What temperature??!! Ya yaaa temperature gone up 'coz he's angry with me!!
Would I get an answer from the stars before the morning Sun masked them??????
Would I drink before my mom spanked me 'coz I kept it till the morning?????
Heyyyy!!! What a problem is it?!!!!!!
Even Dhoni wouldn't have faced such a dilemma in the qualifying cricket match against the Aussies in the Twenty20 World cup, whether to play Bhajji or Jogi to bowl the last crucial over!!!!

The door banged and I could clearly hear the slamming of the door in the silence of the night! There came a shrill voice.. "Divyaaaaaaaaaa.."
Ohhhhhh!! No!!!! Mom?????!!
No sooner did I hear my mom than I gulped a cup followed by the other!!!
I didn't realize when I'd gulped both coffee and horlicks!!! Didn't realize which went in first!! All I knew was that both the cups were empty and I ran down, just waving my best friends goodnight for the night!!
I lay in the bed wondering "COFFEE FIRST OR HORLICKS FIRST" !!!!!!!

You are crazy "BK" in the night time spoiling your health by drinking poisonous coffee. Drink Horlicks atleast JUNIOR HORLICKS is good for kids. They help them grow up now on`t say "nanu thumba busy".
Its an old saying poison is easy to drink but not healthy things.

If I were a Star, I would have probably said "One sip of Horlicks and then a sip of Coffee. Repeat this till both the cups are empty."
Why Horlicks first? It is just because of a feeling without reason that Horlicks is better than Coffee; any day and any time, even though I drink coffee more than I drink Horlicks!
I like the way you bring up a story out something which is virtually nothing for many like me. I also like to read a few lines of perfect English amidst a casual write-up. Even though English doesn't fascinate me, I always prefer to hear or see "Don't Stars sleep?" instead of "Stars won't sleep or what?" or something like that.

NONONO!! I don't drink horlicks sip by sip!! At one stretch in a gulp i finish a glass of horlicks! I don't even take a breath in between..
So dear Star, ur choice ruled out! :) :) Sip by sip drinking is only coffee / tea!!! Savoring every drop of it! :)
